Diagon Alley

All the information you need to know about the Alley itself, including a map.

This gorgeous image is based off a map at The Lexicon. It was drawn by Mod Amy's husband Mike and textured and labeled by her in Photoshop.

NOTES ON THE ALLEY:

• The Ministry HQ shown in the map is not created until the day of the Event.
• There is loosely circular magical border around the Alley. It appears as a short of shimmery dome that cannot be seen through. It cannot be penetrated. Those trapped inside the Alley can get into the Leaky, but cannot get out the front door due to the barrier snug against it.
• It is not possible to apparate out of the Alley. If someone tries, they will disappear for a second only to bounce right back down and reappear where they were standing before. The same goes for Flooing. If one wanted to, they could Floo to buildings inside the alley, but if one tries to Floo out, they will spin around and exit right out the fireplace they came into.
• Knockturn Alley is included in the barrier; meaning people can get in and out. It has been cleaned up some since the end of the war, but even so it is still a bit on the dodgy side. Patrols will be keeping a close eye on that section of the Alley.
• At the opposite end of the Alley from the Leaky Cauldron is a small circular garden. At the moment it contains mainly trees, bushes and several magic flowers and plants. The eventual hope after the Event is to turn the flower garden into a vegetable and herb garden so that the trapped inhabitants of the Alley will have fresh food to eat.
• Atop Libertas Flats is what is currently a flower garden for residents. It will eventually be planted with several fruit trees to help feed the Alley as well. Businesses with yards may also be encouraged to try growing their own food.

NOTES ON THE BUSINESSES:

• Olivander's Fine Wands is now owned by his son, Perseus Olivander, though the elder Mr. Olivander still spends time in the shop.
• Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour is owned by a woman named Annabel who kept the name is honor of Florean (who is dead).
• Ted's Junk is actually named by a man named Bob Smedley. He is not named Ted, nor has he ever known anyone named Ted. When questioned as to why he named his shop Ted's Junk, he usually replies, "I dunno, I jus' like the name."
